Steve Francis poured in a game-high 32 points with 12 rebounds to pace the Magic to the victory. Francis ended 13-of-27 from the floor for Orlando, which has won two straight and four of six. The win was the Magic’s 21st of the season and it matched their total for all of the 2003-04 season.
Francis is registering 21.7 points (16th-NBA) and 6.9 assists (9th-NBA) per contest. Meanwhile, Grant Hill is tallying 18.8 points per game.
Hedo Turkoglu netted 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting, including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc in the win, while Dwight Howard finished with nine points and 13 boards in the win.
Orlando shot 48.2 percent from the field, including 7-of-9 (.778) from three- point range. The Magic hit 14-of-20 free throw attempts in the win, while outrebounding the Pistons 48-30.
Prior to the game, Orlando activated center Andrew DeClercq from the injured list after being sidelined all season because of surgery on his right knee. He went scoreless in nine minutes of action.
To make roster room for DeClercq, center Mario Kasun was sent to the injured list with left knee tendinitis. The rookie averaged 2.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 25 games.
Orlando’s week will continue on Thursday night, as it hosts former teammate Tracy McGrady and the Houston Rockets. The Magic will finish up their week on Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers at home.
