Hill has started 67 games this season for the Magic, averaging 19.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and a team-best 1.45 steals. He was named a starter for the Eastern Conference in the 2005 All-Star Game, the seventh time during his career he has been named to the mid-season classic.
Hill led or tied the team in scoring 22 times, in rebounding twice and in assists 10 times. He was selected by Detroit with the third overall pick in the 1994 NBA Draft. The Pistons traded Hill to the Magic in exchange for Chucky Atkins and Ben Wallace in a sign-and-trade deal on August 3, 2000.
The Magic were granted an exception to have a fourth player on the IL. Already on the injured list are Doug Christie, Andrew DeClercq and Hedo Turkoglu.
In addition, Orlando has signed Mark Jones for the remainder of the season.
