Pacers come back to top Bucks

11.21.2006

Indianapolis, IN (Basketball News) - Stephen Jackson’s block of Ersan Ilyasova’s game-tying three-point attempt capped a frantic Indiana comeback in a 93-88 victory over Milwaukee at Conseco Fieldhouse.

The Pacers scored the game’s final 14 points with Jamaal Tinsley’s running bank shot giving them an 89-88 edge with 31 seconds left. Michael Redd missed a jumper on the other end, and Darrell Armstrong drained a pair of free throws to set up the finish.

Jermaine O’Neal tallied a game-high 26 points with 13 rebounds and Tinsley donated 17 points with nine assists and six rebounds. Danny Granger and Jackson totaled 10 points apiece for the Pacers, who swept the home-and-home with Milwaukee.

Indiana also trailed heading to the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game, eventually pulling off a 102-100 victory.

Redd scored 21 points for the second straight game, while Maurice Williams led Milwaukee with 22 points and nine assists. Dan Gadzuric notched a double- double with 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Bucks, who fell for the seventh time in eight games.

After a nip-and-tuck first half saw Milwaukee hold a slim 49-48 advantage, Indiana stormed out of the locker room on a 14-2 run.

O’Neal scored seven of the points and Granger’s mid-range jumper staked the Pacers to a 62-51 edge with 7:16 left in the stanza.

The Bucks responded with 10 points in a row, with Williams finding Andrew Bogut in transition for a slam that cut the deficit to one with 4:42 remaining.

Bogut had 14 points and eight rebounds on the contest.

Milwaukee waited just a minute before streaking off 10 consecutive points again. Williams’ jumper beat the buzzer to give the Bucks a 71-68 edge as they ended the period with a 20-6 scoring stretch in all.

Gadzuric’s three-point play with 5:29 on the fourth-quarter clock gave the Bucks an 82-72 edge, but the lead quickly evaporated.
