(Basketball News) - The Phoenix Suns got their post-All-Star slate off on a losing note on Tuesday with a 110-95 setback to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.
Amare Stoudemire paced the Suns with 29 points, as Phoenix lost its sixth consecutive contest.
Joe Johnson contributed 25 points and Shawn Marion added 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Suns, who have lost all three meetings with Minnesota this season. Howard Eisley netted 14 points in the setback.
Trailing by six with 4:30 to play in the fourth quarter, Sam Cassell connected on two consecutive buckets to push the Minnesota lead to 10, 98-88. The Suns never seriously threatened again.
The Suns, who are 2-21 when they allow at least 100 points this season, fell to 3-7 in Tuesday games.
Phoenix, which returns to action on Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies, has lost five straight on the road and is a brutal 6-23 away from home this season..
