This is the third meeting of the season between the clubs. The Pistons won the two previous contests, as they defeated the Bulls on December 3rd at the United Center and on December 16th at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Detroit has won three straight and four of the last five meetings in this series. The Pistons have won 11 straight and 14 of their last 15 at Chicago.
The last time the Bulls defeated the Pistons at home was on January 22, 2000.
Chicago attempts to win its third straight game, as it wraps up a four-game homestand. On Wednesday, Kirk Hinrich scored 26 points and the Bulls used a big run over the game’s final five minutes to earn a 97-91 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks at the United Center.
Ben Gordon scored 19 points in the win over the Bucks for Chicago, which outscored Milwaukee 17-5 down the stretch to record its third win in its last four games overall. Luol Deng ended with 12 points, while Malik Allen added 10 and Tyson Chandler posted 12 rebounds and four blocked shots in the victory.
The Bulls are 12-14 at home this season. They have won four of their last five at the United Center.
Detroit goes for its fourth straight victory this evening. Rasheed Wallace scored 28 points, including 11 straight during a decisive fourth quarter run, as the Pistons defeated the Indiana Pacers, 88-83, on Thursday at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Chauncey Billups recorded 14 points and nine assists for the Pistons, who won their 11th straight home game. Ben Wallace and Richard Hamilton each added 13 points in the victory.
The Pistons are 19-7 as the visitor this season. They have lost three of their last four on the road.
Detroit is scheduled to host the Bulls on March 8th in the fourth and final meeting of the campaign between the squads.
