Golden State, which has not qualified for the postseason since 1994, is one game ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
If the Warriors win tonight and the Clippers lose at Phoenix, Golden State would clinch the final playoff spot in the West and meet the top-seeded Mavericks in the opening round.
The Warriors are 2-0 against the Mavericks this season, and have won four straight contests in the series. Dallas has lost two straight after winning its last three at Golden State.
On Sunday, Jason Richardson poured in 32 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out seven assists as Golden State crushed the Minnesota Timberwolves, 121-108, at ORACLE Arena.
Al Harrington ended with 18 points, while Baron Davis netted 17 and Monta Ellis scored 12 for the Warriors, who have won three straight and seven of their last eight games overall. Mickael Pietrus and Kelenna Azubuike contributed 11 points apiece off the bench.
Golden State, which has won four in a row as the host, is 29-11 at home this season. The Warriors wrap up their regular season on Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Garden.
The NBA-best Mavericks, who have clinched home-court advantage throughout the playoffs, open a season-ending two-game road trip. Dirk Nowitzki and Devin Harris both scored 21 points to lead Dallas over the San Antonio Spurs, 91-86, on Sunday at American Airlines Center.
Josh Howard finished with 15 points and six rebounds for the Mavericks, who have won four of their last five games overall. Veteran Jerry Stackhouse added 14 points in the victory.
Dallas is 30-9 on the road this season. The Mavericks will visit the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday at KeyArena.
