Portland hopes to blaze Nuggets 02.2.2007
|
Tonight’s contest is the second of a home-and-home set.
On Wednesday, Zach Randolph poured in 26 points and had a season-high 17 rebounds, as the Trail Blazers took advantage of an absent Allen Iverson to post a 100-91 victory over the Nuggets at the Rose Garden.
Iverson didn’t make the trip to Portland due to a sprained right ankle, and the Nuggets struggled offensively, as they were held to their lowest point total since falling 90-86 versus the Houston Rockets on January 12th.
Rookie Brandon Roy had 25 points and eight assists for the Trail Blazers, who snapped an eight-game series losing streak. Jarrett Jack added 14 points, including a big shot from beyond the arc in the closing minute, as the Blazers won their fourth straight game at the Rose Garden.
Carmelo Anthony had 33 points on 11-of-25 from the floor for Denver, which has lost four in a row, one shy of a season-high. Marcus Camby tallied 17 points and eight rebounds for the Nuggets, who shot 44.4 percent from the field.
Iverson, who was acquired in a blockbuster trade from Philadelphia on December 19th, is questionable for tonight’s contest.
The Nuggets are 12-12 at home, while the Trail Blazers are just 8-15 on the road this season.
Portland has lost six straight and 12 of its last 13 at Denver.
