Miles, who has not appeared in any games this season, will travel to New York where Dr. Russell Warren will perform the surgery. It is unknown what the recovery time will be from the surgery so Miles will be out indefinitely.
He missed extensive time last season after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery in December.
"Darius has done everything he was supposed to do with his rehabilitation from last year’s surgery," said team president and general manager Steve Patterson. "After consultation with several knee experts it has been determined that this is the best course of action."
Over six seasons, including stops with the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland, he has appeared in 412 games, 190 starts, and has averaged 10.6 points per game to go with 5.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
Also, the team announced that head coach Nate McMillan will miss Friday’s game versus the Hornets due to a death in the family. He will rejoin the team in time for Sunday’s contest against Dallas.
