|
(Basketball News) - The Portland Trail Blazers continue their three-game road trip tonight in San Antonio against the Spurs at the SBC Center.
Portland enters tonight’s contest on a sour note after falling to the Houston Rockets, 93-91, on Tuesday. Zach Randolph paced the Blazers with a game-high 31 points and 11 boards. He made 12-of-25 from the field, as Portland dropped its second straight.
Randolph, who averaged 8.4 points in 77 games last season, has scored 28.4 points on 53 percent shooting over his last five games, and leads the team at 22.5 points-per-game.
Damon Stoudamire had 19 points in Tuesday’s loss for the Blazers, who remained winless on the road at 0-7. Portland has dropped nine straight on the road since an 81-66 victory at Houston on April 8, 2003.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are the NBA’s only other team without a road win, having dropped 33 straight away from home dating back to last season.
San Antonio split its four meetings with the Blazers last season and has won eight of 11 and 12 of the last 19 meetings. Portland has also lost four of its last five and six of its last 10 on the Spurs’ floor.
