(Basketball News) - The struggling Portland Trail Blazers continued their six- game road trip on Monday, as the long-distance shooting of Nick Van Exel and Damon Stoudamire was blazing hot, as the Portland guards combined for 50 points in a 109-100 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wachovia Center.
Van Exel had a season-high 28 points on 8-of-13 shooting from three-point distance, while Stoudamire hit 5-of-10 from behind the arc en route to 22 points as the Blazers snapped a season-long four-game losing streak.
Also netting double figures for the Blazers, who have won just two of their last eight games, were Zach Randolph, who scored 18 points, and Ruben Patterson, who added 13. Derek Anderson and Joel Przybilla, who collected eight rebounds, contributed 10 points apiece.
Portland finished the game shooting 48 percent from the field, including 14- of-26 from three-point distance.
The veteran Van Exel has scored 20 or more points just three times this season. He is averaging 9.3 points and 3.2 assists in 30 games for the Trail Blazers.
The Blazers are off until Wednesday when they visit the Washington Wizards at the MCI Center. The teams are scheduled to play once more this season, as Portland will host the Wizards on March 28th at the Rose Garden.
