Portland Trail Blazers Team Report - November 24 11.24.2003
|
(Basketball News) - Portland fell to the Golden State Warriors, 78-72, on Sunday at the Arena.
Zach Randolph netted 17 points and hauled in eight rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who had a two-game win streak snapped.
Portland’s Bonzi Wells returned to the court after serving a two-game suspension and scored 13 points in 15 minutes. Wells was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. In addition, the club took away his title as co- captain. The penalties stem from Wells’ actions during the third quarter of Monday’s 105-98 loss at Dallas.
Wells apparently cursed at head coach Maurice Cheeks and was then benched for the final 16 minutes and 17 seconds of the game.
The Warriors held the Trail Blazers to 31 points in the second half en route to victory.
The Blazers are off until Tuesday when they host the Washington Wizards in the first of a four-game homestand.
