Portland Trail Blazers Team Report - November 26 11.26.2003
|
(Basketball News) - The Portland Trail Blazers dropped their second straight game on Tuesday night, as they were dealt an 81-80 loss at home by the Washington Wizards.
Zach Randolph posted 24 points and 15 rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who lost for the fourth time in six games.
In a game where no team led by double digits, Portland went on a 14-6 run late in the fourth quarter to take a two-point lead. Qyntel Woods’ basket capped off the burst with 2:32 remaining to put the Trail Blazers ahead, 76-74.
But the Portland margin was cut to one at 80-79, and Larry Hughes’ drive through the lane put the Wizards ahead by one for the final tally.
The Trail Blazers had one more opportunity for the win, but Jeff McInnis missed a contested layup off the glass and time expired before Portland could foul to stop the clock.
Portland’s next game is at the Rose Garden on Friday night against the New Jersey Nets.
