(Basketball News) - Zach Randolph had 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Portland Trail Blazers past the New Jersey Nets, 83-71.
Derek Anderson added 21 points while Shareef Abdur-Rahim collected 17 points and 10 rebounds. Portland won for the third time in four games despite shooting just 35 percent from the field.
Both teams had serious trouble scoring in this game. The Nets led 10-9 after one quarter of play, before the Blazers took a 40-35 lead into the locker room.
In the third quarter, Abdur-Rahim hit a 21-foot jumper to cap a 16-1 run that put the Blazers up 46-32 with 4:46 left. Portland cruised thereafter, as the Nets never threatened.
Portland scored 26 points in the third quarter against the Nets after scoring just 30 in the opening half.
Theo Ratliff, Damon Stoudamire and Darius Miles played a combined 86 minutes and did not attempt one free throw.
The Blazers return to action on Tuesay against the Seattle SuperSonics.
