Raptors and Ford agree on extension 10.31.2006
|
The extension is set to begin with the 2007-08 season.
The 6-foot Ford was acquired from the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason after averaging 12.2 points and a team-best 6.6 assists in 72 games last year. In five postseason contests, Ford tallied 12.6 points and 6.4 assists.
In 2003-04, Ford averaged 7.1 points and 6.5 assists in 55 outings and was named to the All-NBA Rookie Second Team. The former Texas star missed the final 26 games of the 2003-04 season and the entire 2004-05 campaign due to neck surgery.
The Raptors also announced that they exercised their fourth year option on forward Kris Humphries. Toronto acquired Humphries in June from Utah, where he averaged 3.6 points and 2.7 rebounds in 129 career games.
