Raptors continue homestand vs. Spurs

11.5.2006

(Basketball News) - The Toronto Raptors play the second of a four-game homestand when they welcome the San Antonio Spurs this afternoon at Air Canada Centre.

Toronto picked up its first win on Friday. Chris Bosh and T.J. Ford dominated as the Raptors defeated the Milwaukee Bucks, 109-92, in their home opener. Bosh finished with 26 points, 15 rebounds and two blocks in the victory.

Ford, the ex-Buck who was traded to Toronto for forward Charlie Villanueva during the offseason, ended with 13 points and 11 assists in the win over Milwaukee.

The Raptors, who fell to the New Jersey Nets, 102-92, at Continental Airlines Arena in their season opener, will visit Philadelphia on Wednesday and Atlanta on Friday.

San Antonio tries to bounce back from a home loss, as it plays the first of a two-game road trip. LeBron James scored 35 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, as the Cleveland Cavaliers won in San Antonio for the first time since 1988 with an 88-81 victory in the Spurs’ home opener.

Tim Duncan had 25 points and 12 rebounds for the Spurs, who won at Dallas on Thursday night in their season opener. Tony Parker ended with 21 points and Manu Ginobili scored 14 in the loss to Cleveland.

The Spurs will visit Stephon Marbury and the New York Knicks on Monday at Madison Square Garden.

Last season, San Antonio won its two contests with the Raptors. The Spurs have won four of their last six at Toronto.
