Redd, Bucks edge Sixers

11.22.2006

Milwaukee, WI (Basketball News) - Michael Redd scored 32 points as the Milwaukee Bucks came back to edge the Philadelphia 76ers, 98-94, at the Bradley Center.

Ruben Patterson scored 18 points for the Bucks, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Andrew Bogut posted 14 points and nine rebounds and Charlie Bell added 13 points.

Andre Iguodala posted 18 points, a career-high 16 rebounds, and 10 assists for his second-career triple-double for the Sixers, who lost their fourth straight. Willie Green netted a season-high 24 points for the Sixers and Kyle Korver scored 19. Rodney Carney added nine points.

Philadelphia was without stars Allen Iverson, who was out after having surgery on his wisdom tooth, and Chris Webber, who missed the game with a bad back. Steven Hunter was also sidelined with a right knee sprain.

The Bucks opened the fourth on a 7-0 spurt capped by a Bell layup to tie the score at 79-79 with 9:30 remaining. The Bucks tied the score eight times throughout the contest without a lead change, until a pair of Redd free throws with 1:14 left made it 95-93.

Korver turned the ball over at the one-minute mark, but then got fouled trying to rebound Patterson’s missed three-point attempt with 39.5 seconds remaining. He converted 1-of-2 for a one-point Sixers deficit.

Bell converted 1-of-2 from the charity stripe with 25.7 seconds left, and Iguodala missed a layup. Redd then got fouled with 5.9 seconds to go, but made only 1-of-2 to keep it a one-possession game. Korver caught the inbound pass but had it stolen by Patterson, who then hit 1-of-2 free throws with 2.5 seconds left to seal the win.

Philadelphia outscored Milwaukee 31-25 in the first quarter and led 57-53 at halftime.

The Sixers added three points to their lead in the third to hold a 79-72 advantage heading into the fourth.

Philly finished 10-for-17 (58.8 percent) from beyond the arc, while Milwaukee was 4-for-13 (30.8 percent); and outrebounded the Bucks, 44-41.
