Minneapolis, MN (Basketball News) - The Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly come to terms on a five-year contract with forward/center Mark Madsen.
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that Madsen chose to remain with the Timberwolves rather than accept a lucrative offer from the Utah Jazz. The Washington Wizards were also said to be competing for his services.
Madsen just finished a two-year contract with the Timberwolves and averaged 2.1 points and 3.1 rebounds last season. He missed the latter part of the season with a torn ligament in his right wrist.
The Timberwolves also announced Saturday that they have named former player and NBA head coach Johnny Davis as Dwane Casey’s top assistant.
