Baker, who split time last season with the Rockets and New York Knicks, averaged only 1.3 points, 1.4 rebounds and 7.6 minutes in 27 total games in 2004-05.
The 6-foot-11, 240-pound forward was acquired by the Rockets in February, along with Moochie Norris, for Maurice Taylor.
Baker, who was selected in the first round (eighth overall) of the 1993 draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, has also spent time with the Seattle SuperSonics and the Boston Celtics. He has played in 783 career contests, averaging 15.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
The 12-year veteran was an All-Star from 1995-1998 and a member of the gold- medal winning 2000 U.S. Men’s Olympic Team.
