Rockets sign Spanoulis

Houston, TX (Basketball News) - The Houston Rockets signed Greek swing-guard Vassilis Spanoulis to a three-year contract on Wednesday.

Houston acquired Spanoulis’ rights after trading second-round picks with Dallas in the 2004 NBA Draft.

Spanoulis, 23, led the Panathanaikos Greens to the Greek league championship. At 6-foot-4, he averaged 15.5 points and 3.1 assists in 21 games.

A member of the Greek Olympic team, Spanoulis is training with the Greek team for the world championships and won’t be in Houston until September.
