Sixers’ Randolph exercises player option

06.22.2007

Philadelphia, PA (Basketball News) - Philadelphia 76ers forward Shavlik Randolph exercised the player option on his contract Friday for the 2007-08 season. Per club policy, terms of the contract were not released.

Randolph’s season was cut short last year when he suffered a fractured and dislocated left ankle in practice November 30th. In 13 games before the injury, he averaged 4.5 points and 4.2 rebounds.

In two seasons with Philadelphia, the 6-10, 240-pound forward has averaged 2.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 70 games, including seven starts. Randolph was an early-entry candidate for the 2005 NBA Draft out of Duke University. He went undrafted and signed with the Sixers in August of 2005.
