Seattle plays the finale of a five-game road trip against the Grizzlies. On Sunday, Jason Maxiell’s baseline jumper with 6.8 seconds left gave Detroit the lead and the Pistons went on to defeat the SuperSonics, 97-93, at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Rashard Lewis ended with 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Sonics, who fell to 0-4 on their current road trip. Chris Wilcox finished with 21 points in defeat.
The SuperSonics are 4-9 on the road this season. After Monday’s contest, they return home for a three-game homestand. Seattle will host Dallas, Toronto and the Hornets on the upcoming stand.
All-Star guard Ray Allen is sidelined with a bone bruise in his right ankle. He has missed seven straight games. The SuperSonics are 3-4 without Allen, who leads the team in scoring (25.3 ppg).
Seattle is 5-7 when it allows 100 or more points this season. The SuperSonics are 6-5 when they reach the century mark.
