Sonics, Timberwolves clash at Target Center

Minnesota’s latest loss came on Monday, as it was upended by the Phoenix Suns, 103-89.

Kevin Garnett had 26 points and 19 rebounds for the ’Wolves, while Wally Szczerbiak added a team-high 27 points while Trenton Hassell had 14 for Minnesota.

Since a five-game winning streak to start December, the Timberwolves have lost six of seven and have not reached 100 points in 11 games.

On the injury front, center Michael Olowokandi missed the game with an elbow injury and is questionable for tonight’s affair.

The Timberwolves, who start a two-game road trip in Orlando on Friday, are 8-6 in their arena this season.

Seattle, meanwhile, comes in on a winning note after Ronald Murray had 29 points and five assists as the SuperSonics defeated the Boston Celtics, 118-111, on Monday at KeyArena.

Rashard Lewis had 21 points, Ray Allen had 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists and Nick Collison had 16 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for the Sonics, who stopped a two-game losing streak.

Murray replaced Luke Ridnour, who did not play in the second half due to nausea.

Seattle, which will close a two-game road trip in Denver on Thursday, is 4-6 away from home this season.

The Sonics beat Minnesota earlier in the year and could have the advantage tonight, as the road team in this series has won six of the last nine meetings. Seattle has also won two straight and three of its last four at the Target Center.
