Carlos Boozer led Utah with 21 points and nine rebounds. Mehmet Okur scored 13 points and pulled down nine boards for the Jazz, who had a seven-game winning streak at home come to an end. Andrei Kirilenko scored 11 points for Utah.
Utah is 7-1 as the host this season.
Meanwhile, the Spurs have lost two of their last three games after ripping off four straight wins.
In their last game on Monday against Golden State, the Spurs dropped a 111-102 decision at ORACLE Arena. Tim Duncan had 22 points and 16 rebounds for the Spurs, who were trying to become the first team to start 8-0 on the road since the 1996-97 Houston Rockets.
Tony Parker tallied 28 points and Michael Finley scored 18 in a losing cause, as San Antonio fell to 7-1 on the road this season. Spurs guard Manu Ginobili missed his second straight game because of back spasms. He will most likely miss Wednesday’s game.
San Antonio went 3-0 against Utah last season and has won four of five and 22 of the last 24 meetings in the series.
The Spurs have won two straight, 10 of 12 and 11 of their last 15 trips to Salt Lake City.
