Ginobili averaged 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 77 contests last season with the Spurs, finishing third for the NBA’s Sixth Man award. The 6-6, 205-pound guard also finished seventh in the NBA in steals per game with 1.76
"Signing Manu Ginobili was always our top priority for this summer," said Spurs general manager R.C. Buford. "Manu is a significant contributor to our program and the San Antonio community. We are excited to have Manu in a Spurs uniform for years to come."
For his career, Ginobili, 26, has averages of 10.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.59 steals per game in 146 games.
Ginobili, a native of Bahia Blanca, Argentina, has spent his two-year NBA career with San Antonio after being selected with the 57th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft. He started his professional career with Reggio Calabria in the Italian A1 League before moving on to Virtus Bologna. Ginobili was named Italian League MVP in 2001 and 2002, while leading Bologna to Italian and Euroleague titles in 2001.
