Spurs sign free agent guard Wilks

San Antonio, TX (Basketball News) - The San Antonio Spurs signed free agent guard Mike Wilks on Wednesday. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wilks spent the 2003-04 campaign with the Houston Rockets and averaged 1.9 points and 0.7 assists over 26 games. During the 2002-03 campaign, he split time between Atlanta and Minnesota and posted averages of 3.2 points and 2.0 assists in 46 contests.

Meanwhile, the Spurs placed guard Marque Perry on waivers. Perry appeared in five preseason games for the Spurs and averaged 3.6 points, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals per outing.
