08.25.2004

San Antonio, TX (Basketball News) - The San Antonio Spurs have signed forward Linton Johnson III. Per club policy, terms of the contract were not released.

The 6-8, 205-pound Johnson spent most of the 2003-04 season with the Chicago Bulls. He appeared in 41 games for Chicago, including 20 starts, and averaged 4.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest.

Johnson started the season in Chicago, but was waived after 18 games. He then signed with the Rockford Lightning in the CBA where he averaged 15.6 points and 8.5 rebounds in 21 games. He then re-joined the Bulls in February, signing a 10-day contract, and spent remainder of the season with Chicago.

Johnson was signed by the Bulls after going undrafted. As a senior at Tulane, Johnson averaged 9.0 points and 6.5 boards during the 2001-02 season.
