Struggling Nets host Bobcats

11.28.2006

(Basketball News) - The slumping New Jersey Nets attempt to put the brakes on a five-game losing streak when they host the Charlotte Bobcats tonight at the Continental Airlines Arena.

New Jersey returns home after going 0-4 on a four-game road trip. On Sunday, Lamar Odom paced a balanced Lakers attack with 21 points as Los Angeles fought back to beat the Nets, 99-93, at the Staples Center.

All-Star Vince Carter finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Jason Kidd dished out 16 assists in the loss to the Lakers for the struggling Nets. Nenad Krstic tallied 20 points, while Richard Jefferson and rookie Marcus Williams ended with 14 points apiece.

The Nets are 3-3 at home this season. New Jersey will travel to Boston and battle Paul Pierce and the Celtics on Wednesday at TD Banknorth Garden.

Charlotte, which starts a three-game road trip this evening, has lost two in a row and four of its last five games overall. On Saturday, Dwyane Wade had 35 points and 12 assists to lead the Miami Heat over the Bobcats, 102-93, at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.

Adam Morrison tied a career-high with 27 points in the loss to the Heat for Charlotte. Gerald Wallace contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Raymond Felton netted 13 and handed out seven assists for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats are just 1-5 on the road this season. They are scheduled to visit the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday and the Washington Wizards on Friday.

The Nets have won seven of eight against Charlotte. The Bobcats are 1-3 at New Jersey.
