Surprising Nuggets head to Dallas

Anthony scored 23 points and dished out seven assists, lifting the Nuggets to a 108-87 victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday at the Pepsi Center.
Voshon Lenard added 19 points and six assists for the Nuggets, who have won two straight and four of their last five games to improve to 7-5 overall this season. Denver is now two games over .500 for the first time since February of 2001.
The unselfish Nuggets were sharing the ball all night, as Andre Miller added eight assists of his own. Overall, the Nuggets had 38 helpers on 44 baskets.
Denver played against Dallas without forward Nene, who has a groin injury. He is questionable for tonight’s game.
The Nuggets are 2-4 on the road this season.
On Thursday, Nowitzki scored 26 points, despite playing with a sprained ankle, leading the Dallas Mavericks to a 95-92 victory over the San Antonio Spurs at American Airlines Center.
Nowitzki, who sprained his ankle in practice on Wednesday and was listed as questionable against the Spurs, went 10-for-10 from the line in a rematch of last season’s Western Conference finals. San Antonio won that series in six games last season, en route to capturing the NBA championship.
Antoine Walker had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Mavericks, who have won five of their last six games overall and improved to 6-0 at home this season. Steve Nash contributed 12 points, eight boards and seven assists in the win.
Michael Finley had 17 points in the victory.
Dallas’ Antawn Jamison left against the Spurs in the third quarter with a strained hamstring. He had just two points and eight rebounds in 16 minutes before leaving the game.
Shawn Bradley started his first game of the season for Dallas and had five points and seven boards in 22 minutes.
Jamison is questionable for tonight’s contest with a hamstring injury.
In 2002-03, Dallas won all four games between the two teams.
Overall, the Mavs have won eight straight and 14 of the last 15 meetings with Denver.
