Timberwolves try to halt six-game losing streak vs. Warriors 03.16.2006

(Basketball News) - The Golden State Warriors play the first of a brief two- game homestand when they welcome the slumping Minnesota Timberwolves tonight to The Arena in Oakland.
This is the third meeting of the season between the clubs. In the two previous contests, both teams picked up a victory on its homecourt.
Minnesota has lost three of five and five of its last eight at Golden State.
Golden State attempts to get back on the winning track this evening. On Saturday, Hedo Turkoglu finished with 21 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists, as the Orlando Magic downed the Warriors, 103-92, at the TD Waterhouse Centre.
Derek Fisher tallied 20 points and six assists, while Baron Davis scored 17 points and dished out seven assists in the loss to Orlando for the Warriors, who ended a five-game road trip with a poor 1-4 record.
The Warriors, who will host the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, are just 16-16 at home this season.
The Timberwolves have dropped six straight contests and play the finale of a six-game road trip. On Wednesday, Kobe Bryant scored 19 of his 25 points in the second half, including four in the final minute, as the Los Angeles Lakers downed Minnesota, 92-89, at the Staples Center.
Marcus Banks scored 18 points and dished out eight assists, while Kevin Garnett added 16 points and 14 rebounds in the loss to the Lakers for Minnesota, which has dropped 13 of its last 17 games overall Rookie Rashad McCants scored 15 points off the bench on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor and Trenton Hassell netted 12 in defeat.
Minnesota is a brutal 8-24 as the visitor this season. After tonight’s game, the Timberwolves return home for a pair of games against the Sacramento Kings and Miami Heat.
The Timberwolves are scheduled to host the Warriors on April 2nd at the Target Center in the fourth and final meeting of the campaign between the squads.
