According to an earlier report by TSN.ca, the deal is for six years and could be worth up to $30 million.
The 27-year-old former playground legend played for Miami last season, averaging 10.2 points and 4.5 assists per contest. Alston hit a three- pointer in a franchise-record 48 consecutive games for the Heat. He was a second-round draft choice of Milwaukee in 1998.
Alston, a Fresno State product, inked a 10-day contract with the Raptors in January of 2003. He then signed for the rest of the season and averaged 7.8 points and 4.1 assists in 47 games.
