Toronto Raptors Team Report - December 10 12.10.2003
|
(Basketball News) - Vince Carter collected 22 points, eight rebounds and seven assists to lead the Toronto Raptors to a 100-93 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday in a Central Division battle from Gund Arena.
The recently-acquired Donyell Marshall and Jalen Rose each contributed 20 points, with Marshall adding seven rebounds and Rose dishing out six assists for the Raptors.
The squad ran its season-high winning streak to five games, and has not lost since the duo of Marshall and Rose came over in a trade with the Chicago Bulls (5-0).
Cleveland trailed 79-73 heading into to the fourth quarter, and got the Raptors’ advantage down to four points at 85-81 on a pair of Zydrunas Ilgauskas free throws midway through the frame.
But a 9-3 run by the Raptors, capped by a Chris Bosh dunk, opened up a 10- point lead at 94-84 with less than four minutes to go, and the Cavs never got closer than within five points the rest of the way.
The Raptors sport a road record of 5-6 and will close a brief two-game road trip in Boston on Friday.
