Trouble at home for SuperSonics

On Wednesday, the Orlando Magic attempt to extend their winning streak to a season-high five games when they visit the SuperSonics at KeyArena. It is the second and final meeting of the season between the squads. On November 8th, Hedo Turkoglu’s fadeaway jumper with 0.4 seconds left on the clock lifted Orlando to a thrilling 88-87 victory over the SuperSonics at TD Waterhouse Centre.

Orlando has won two straight and three of the last five meetings against the SuperSonics. The Magic have dropped three in a row and seven of their last eight at Seattle.

Seattle tries to halt a two-game losing streak, as it plays the third of a four-game homestand against the Magic. On Sunday, Tim Duncan scored 18 points, pulled down 16 rebounds and dished out six assists to lead the San Antonio Spurs over the SuperSonics, 98-78, at KeyArena.

Sharp-shooting Ray Allen paced the Sonics with a game-high 21 points in the loss to San Antonio. Nick Collison netted 15 and pulled down seven boards, while Luke Ridnour had 11 points and four assists.

The SuperSonics, who have dropped four of their last five at KeyArena, are just 2-5 at home this season. They are scheduled to host Jermaine O’Neal and the Indiana Pacers on Friday in the finale of the homestand. Seattle has won three of its last four contests against the Pacers.

Allen is averaging a team-best 25.5 points per game this season. The Connecticut product has scored in double-digits in all 15 contests and has netted more than 20 in 13 games. Allen has logged 35 or more minutes in every game.

Seattle has allowed over 100 points in eight games and is 3-5 in those contests.
