Wade and Bryant earn Player of the Week honors 02.23.2004

Wade helped the Heat to a 3-0 record last week, as he averaged 27.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
He netted 31 points in a victory over Utah on February 17 and collected 22 points and seven assists in a triumph over Atlanta three days later. Wade then completed his stellar week with a 28-point, seven-rebound effort against Denver on February 21.
Bryant averaged 33.5 points, 7.5 assists and 6.5 boards per contest while shooting 60 percent from the floor, as the Lakers went 4-0 for the week.
He contributed 31 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds in a victory over Portland on February 17 and scored 35 points and handed out eight assists in a win over Golden State the next day. On February 22 versus Phoenix, Bryant poured in 40 points and pulled down seven boards, as the Lakers defeated the Suns.
Other candidates for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Detroit’s Ben Wallace, Houston’s Yao Ming, the Clippers’ Elton Brand, Minnesota’s Kevin Garnett, New Jersey’s Richard Jefferson, New Orleans’ Jamal Mashburn, Orlando’s Tracy McGrady, Sacramento’s Vlade Divac and Toronto’s Donyell Marshall.
