Udonis Haslem posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 boards and Alonzo Mourning had 14 points for the Heat, who have won two in a row.
Allen Iverson could not get his team in the win column despite dropping in 45 points for Philadelphia, which has dropped six of its last seven and nine of 11. Andre Iguodala had 15 points and nine rebounds and was the only other Sixer in double digits.
Miami went on a 10-1 run in the latter stages of the third quarter to move in front, 70-62. Wade had six points in the burst, including four straight free throws to give his team its first significant cushion.
The lead got as high as nine before Iverson converted a three-point play to make it 74-68 heading into the final frame.
Haslem opened the fourth with two straight field goals to up the Heat advantage to double-digits, though, and Dorell Wright followed with a slam to make it 80-68.
The Sixers got no closer than eight the rest of the way.
A nip-and-tuck first half ended in a 51-51 tie, with Iverson leading all scorers with 27 points.
The Sixers actually led 31-25 after 12 minutes of play, but were unable to hold the lead.
Game Notes
This was the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On November 5th, Allen Iverson poured in 31 points to go along with 13 assists to lead the Sixers over Miami, 107-98, at the Wachovia Center...Philadelphia is 2-7 on the road. The 76ers will visit Jason Kidd and the New Jersey Nets on December 2nd at Continental Airlines Arena...The Heat are 3-5 at home this season. They are scheduled to host Chauncey Billups and the Detroit Pistons on Thursday in a rematch on the 2006 Eastern Conference finals.
