Warriors are still alive in playoff race

The last time the Warriors advanced to the postseason was in 1994. They were swept, 3-0, by the Phoenix Suns in the first round.

Two-time All-Star guard Baron Davis is back after missing a month because of having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. Davis leads the Warriors in scoring (20.5 ppg) and assists (8.6 apg).

Golden State is scheduled to play 11 of its final 20 games on its home court. Nineteen of the contests are against Western Conference teams. The Warriors will host their only opponent from the East, the Washington Wizards, on March 23rd at ORACLE Arena.

The Warriors play the first of a brief two-game homestand when they welcome the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday to ORACLE Arena. It is the fourth and final contest between the clubs this season. The Nuggets won the three previous games.

Denver has won two of its last three at Golden State. The Nuggets have captured four straight and seven of the last eight contests in the series.

On Monday, Jason Richardson scored a season-high 29 points on 9-of-17 from the field, as Golden State snapped an 11-game losing streak in Detroit with a 111-93 victory over the Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Al Harrington posted 16 points and 10 rebounds in the win over the Pistons for Golden State, which also ended a six-game losing streak overall and a seven- game road slide.

Davis and swingman Stephen Jackson both returned from injuries against the Pistons. Davis, who was sidelined for 13 games, had 15 points. Jackson missed four games with turf toe and ended with 14 points, six rebounds and seven assists in the victory.

Golden State is a solid 20-10 at home this season. The Warriors are scheduled to host Elton Brand and the Clippers on Friday. They are 1-2 against the Clippers this season.
