Warriors come out to play vs. Spurs

12.4.2006

(Basketball News) - The San Antonio Spurs shoot for back-to-back wins this evening when they host the Golden State Warriors at the AT&T Center.

The Spurs ended a two-game slide with Saturday’s 100-98 win over the Sacramento Kings.

Bruce Bowen scored 23 points and drained the go-ahead three-pointer with 1:18 left and the Spurs held on for the win. Tony Parker added 20 points and eight assists, while Tim Duncan ended with 19 points, 11 rebounds and six assists for San Antonio, which is 5-3 at home this season.

The Warriors, meanwhile, have dropped two straight and five of their last seven games. On Saturday Golden State suffered a 115-110 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks at ORACLE Arena.

Troy Murphy tallied 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Warriors. Baron Davis had 19 points and 11 assists, while Monta Ellis also scored 19 for Golden State. Warriors head coach Don Nelson failed in his second try to become the second coach in NBA history to reach 1,200 career wins.

Golden State will hit the road for two games at San Antonio and Houston, and is 1-3 away from ORACLE Arena this season. The odds are against the Warriors in their matchup at San Antonio, where they have dropped 17 in a row.

Golden State ended a seven-game losing streak to San Antonio with a 111-102 home win this season on November 27th.

San Antonio has won eight of 10 and 12 of the last 15 meetings in the series.
