Warriors F Dunleavy gets extension

Oakland, CA (Basketball News) - The Golden State Warriors signed forward Mike Dunleavy to a multi-year contract extension on Monday. As per team policy, financial terms were not disclosed.

Dunleavy played in 79 games (all starts) last season and averaged a career- high 13.4 points per game with 5.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

"I’m really excited to know that I will be a member of this team for the next several years," Dunleavy said. "I knew from the beginning of this process that this is the place that I wanted to be and an organization that I wanted to be a part of in the future. I’m very optimistic about the direction of the franchise and the potential for this team to become one of the top clubs in the Western Conference for several years."

Golden State selected Dunleavy with the third overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft. He has appeared in 236 games with the Warriors, averaging 10.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest.
