09.12.2005

Oakland, CA (Basketball News) - The Golden State Warriors announced that they have hired John MacLeod as an assistant coach on Monday. Terms of the agreement were not announced as per team policy.

MacLeod has over 20 years of coaching experience in the NBA, with 18 of those seasons spent as a head coach. He ranks 15th on the all-time NBA coaching win list with 707 career victories.

"We’re extremely pleased and fortunate to add someone the caliber of John MacLeod to our coaching staff," Warriors vice president of basketball operation Chris Mullin said. "His impressive resume speaks for itself in terms of his success in the NBA and the experience he has gained in this league. We think he’ll make a wonderful addition to our organization and team."

Most recently, MacLeod served as associate head coach for the Denver Nuggets during the 2003-04 season. His first job came as head coach of the Phoenix Suns in 1973.
