Warriors sign Belinelli

Oakland, CA (Basketball News) - The Golden State Warriors announced Monday the signing of guard Marco Belinelli, the team’s first-round pick in this year’s draft. Terms of the deal were not released.

The Warriors selected Belinelli with the 18th overall pick. The 6-foot-5 guard from Bologna, Italy recently averaged 22.8 points for Golden State’s summer league team.

Belinelli has played the past five seasons professionally in Italy and last year averaged 16.4 points per game with Fortitudo Bologna in Serie A, the top professional league in Italy.
