Webber returns to form in win over Mavs

Mike Bibby and Brad Miller added 21 points apiece for the Kings, who won their third straight game and 10th in the last 12. Miller also grabbed 16 rebounds to post a double-double.

Chris Webber rebounded from his woeful 2-of-21 shooting performance Tuesday night against Golden State with 16 points and eight boards in the winning effort.

"I didn’t feel it was a good game," Webber said. "The best is yet to come. But it does feel good not to stink the place up."

Webber’s and Miller’s point totals were part of a 52-32 advantage for Sacramento on points in the paint.

Dirk Nowitzki paced the Mavericks with 21 points as all 12 Mavericks that played, scored in the game. Michael Finley chipped in 18 points and six assists, while Steve Nash and Marquis Daniels scored 13 and 10 points, respectively. Dallas lost for the fourth time in the last five games overall and had a three-game winning streak snapped versus the Kings.

Trailing by double-digits for most of the second and third quarters, Dallas trimmed its deficit to nine at 91-82 on a Shawn Bradley layup with 9:54 to go in the fourth quarter.

However, the Kings reeled off the game’s next 13 points, including the final four from Miller, to go up 104-82.

The Kings pushed their lead out to as many as 24 at 116-92 on a Bibby three- pointer from the right wing with 4 1/2 minutes remaining, as the Mavericks never got closer than the final margin.

Sacramento shot 56 percent (48-of-85) from the floor, while the Mavericks managed to just hit for 41 percent (43-of-105).

The first 10 minutes of the first quarter were tightly contested, as neither side held a lead larger than five points. But the Kings used a 7-2 spurt the final two minutes of the period, including an Anthony Peeler three, to grab a 37-27 advantage.

Finley knocked down a three to bring the Mavericks within 37-30 to open the second quarter. But Sacramento responded by scoring the next eight points, including a Christie three from the baseline, to grab a 15-point lead at 45-30.

The Kings led by double-digits the rest of the quarter in building a a 64-52 advantage at halftime.

Dallas trailed by as much as 17 early in the third quarter, but it used a 7-0 run midway through the frame to get within nine at 85-76. Daniels scored four of the points during the run and Finley added the rest by knocking down a three from the top of the key.

Miller scored the final three points of the period for Sacramento to give it an 88-76 edge heading into the final quarter.

"We got our butts beat tonight," Mavs coach Don Nelson said.
