Atlanta is still searching for some consistency after falling 100-85 to the New Jersey Nets at home on Saturday night.
Jason Terry had 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Hawks, who have dropped two of three.
Dion Glover and Nazr Mohammed each scored 13 points while Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 12 for the Hawks, who shot 38 percent (29-of-76) from the floor and went 23-of-30 from the foul line. Atlanta went 4-of-12 from beyond the arc.
The Hawks actually outrebounded the Nets, 39-38, but were dominated in the paint (40-26) and on the break (17-10).
Atlanta is 1-2 as the host this season.
The Wizards’ woes continued on Saturday night with a disappointing 95-71 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
Gilbert Arenas scored 14 points to pace the Wizards, who have lost four straight games and six of their last eight overall. Juan Dixon chipped in 11 points for Washington.
Washington’s Larry Hughes had 10 points before being ejected in the second quarter against the Spurs for throwing the ball after being whistled for a foul.
The Wizards are 1-3 on the road this season.
In 2002-03, the teams split four meetings as both teams won once on its home court and once as the visitor.
Overall, the Hawks have won two straight, while the Wizards have won seven of the last 10 meetings.
