Wizards place F Jarvis Hayes on IL

Washington, DC (Basketball News) - The Washington Wizards have placed forward Jarvis Hayes on the injured list.

Hayes is expected to miss the next 4-to-6 weeks with a fractured right patella. He suffered the injury in the second quarter against the Sacramento Kings on February 27.

"Jarvis has been a key contributor to our team’s success and it is unfortunate that this injury occurred," said president of basketball operations Ernie Grunfeld said. "We expect Jarvis to make a full recovery and get back to action with his teammates as soon as possible."

Hayes is averaging career-highs in points (10.2), rebounds (4.2) and assists (1.7) in 54 games this season.
