Wizards visit Jazz at Delta Center

03.23.2006

(Basketball News) - The Utah Jazz play the second of a four-game homestand when they welcome the Washington Wizards tonight to the Delta Center.

This is the second and final meeting of the campaign between the clubs. On January 9th, Mehmet Okur scored 19 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as the Jazz won on the road against the Wizards, 97-89.

Washington has lost 15 of its last 17 at Utah.

Utah attempts to make it two straight wins this evening. Andrei Kirilenko finished with 22 points, a career-high 18 rebounds and four blocked shots as Utah overcame a 15-point deficit to defeat the Phoenix Suns, 107-99, on Tuesday at the Delta Center.

Okur ended with a game-high 24 points and pulled down 14 rebounds, while Carlos Boozer recorded 23 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Phoenix for the Jazz, who have won two of their last three games overall.

The Jazz are 17-16 at the Delta Center this season. They will host Sacramento on Saturday and the Hornets on Monday.

Washington will try and get back on the winning track as it begins a tough six-game road trip. On Tuesday, Richard Jefferson poured in 27 points on 11- of-15 shooting to lead the New Jersey Nets past the Wizards, 112-100, at the Verizon Center.

All-Star Gilbert Arenas scored 25 points and dished out eight assists in the loss to New Jersey for the Wizards, who lost for just the second time in their last six contests. Caron Butler also recorded 25 points, while Antawn Jamison netted 16 and pulled down 13 rebounds in defeat.

The Wizards are just 10-19 as the visitor this season. They will also visit the Clippers, Golden State, Sacramento, Houston and San Antonio on the current swing.
