Wizards welcome Raptors to D.C.

The Atlantic Division-leading Raptors are third overall in the Eastern Conference and have won three of the last four games, including Wednesday’s 96-83 victory over the Miami Heat at the Air Canada Centre.

Chris Bosh recorded 13 points and 18 rebounds to post the 34th double-double of the season and 111th of his career, passing former Raptor Antonio Davis for the most in franchise history.

Anthony Parker totaled 20 points, Juan Dixon added 18 points and T.J. Ford recorded 14 points with nine assists for the Raptors, who have won seven of their last 10 games.

Toronto is 13-22 away from Canada this season.

Washington regained the top spot in the Southeast Division thanks to Toronto’s win over the Heat. The Wizards are a half-game ahead of Miami in the standings and sit fourth overall in the Eastern Conference.

The Wizards put the brakes on a three-game losing streak with Wednesday’s 111-108 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers at the Verizon Center. DeShawn Stevenson scored a season-high 28 points and Caron Butler returned from injury to post 21 points for Washington.

Gilbert Arenas netted 20 points and Antawn Jamison added 14 and 11 rebounds for the Wizards, who just lost the top spot in the division after Monday’s setback to the Utah Jazz in the finale of a five-game road trip.

Washington will conclude a two-game homestand this evening and is 26-9 as the host this season.

Friday’s game between Toronto and Washington is the fourth and final meeting of the regular season. The Raptors lead the series by a 2-1 edge and have won three of the last four meetings.

Toronto has lost six straight after winning its last two in D.C.
