Nets’ Jefferson undergoes right ankle surgery

East Rutherford, NJ (Basketball News) - New Jersey Nets forward Richard Jefferson had successful arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle Monday to remove loose bodies.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Martin O’Malley and Dr. Riley Williams III at the Hospital of Special Surgery in Manhattan.

The 6-7 Jefferson will start rehabilitation in 10 days but there is no timetable for his return.

Jefferson, a sixth-year veteran, averaged 16.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 34 games this season.
