(Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets were defeated by San Antonio, 85-71, on Wednesday in a rematch of the 2003 NBA Finals, which was won in six games by the Spurs.
Jason Kidd registered the 52nd triple-double of his career, but the Nets lost their second straight game and fell to 3-5 on the young season. Kidd collected 14 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists for New Jersey.
Kenyon Martin posted 14 points and 10 boards in his return for the Nets. Martin missed the last five games after spraining his left ankle in a win over Minnesota on October 31.
Martin shot just 7-of-21 from the floor for the Nets
Kerry Kittles and Richard Jefferson added 13 points apiece in the loss.
The Nets made just 36-percent of their shots.
New Jersey was outrebounded 50-40 by the Spurs.
The Nets are off until Friday when they host the New York Knicks.
