New-look Pacers start homestand vs. Knicks

Indiana enters tonight’s game on a three-game losing streak. On Thursday, Dwyane Wade poured in 33 points, pulled down six rebounds and dished out eight assists as the defending world champion Miami Heat defeated the Pacers, 104-101, at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Danny Granger scored a career-high 28 points in the loss to Miami for the Pacers, who have lost five of their last eight games overall . Marquis Daniels tallied 23 points and Jermaine O’Neal registered 17 points and 10 boards for Indiana in defeat.

The Pacers made a blockbuster deal on Wednesday by trading Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Sarunas Jasikevicius and Josh Powell to the Golden State Warriors for Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod, who is doubtful with a strained abdominal muscle.

Indiana, which has dropped two of its last three at Conseco Fieldhouse, is 10-6 at home this season. The Pacers will also host Chicago, Miami and Toronto on the homestand.

New York starts a short two-game road trip. On Friday, Clifford Robinson’s tip-in with 2.8 seconds left gave the New Jersey Nets a 101-100 victory over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Quentin Richardson scored a team-high 24 points and pulled down nine boards while Stephon Marbury had 23 points and seven assists for the Knicks, who lost their second straight game in the final seconds.

The Knicks, who will visit Wade and the Heat on Monday at AmericanAirlines Arena, are 7-12 on the road this season.

This is the third and final meeting of the campaign between the clubs. Indiana won the two previous contests.

New York has lost two in a row and 10 of its last 12 at Indiana. The PAcers have won three in a row in this series.
