=== New Orleans Hornets Team Report - January 25 ===

(Basketball News) - Darrell Armstrong scored a career-high 35 points, including the game-winning three-pointer with 1.5 seconds left, to lift New Orleans to a 98-96 win over San Antonio at the SBC Center.

Jamaal Magloire added 17 points for the Hornets, who have won two straight games. New Orleans played for the third consecutive game without guard Baron Davis, who is nursing an ankle injury. Steve Smith and P.J. Brown each chipped in 12 points in the win.

After Malik Rose put San Antonio ahead 94-93 on two free throws with 36 seconds left, Magloire’s basket seconds later restored the Hornets’ advantage. Tim Duncan then had an answer, as the two-time MVP banked in a shot with 10.5 seconds left to put the Spurs ahead 96-95.

But the Hornets had one final shot. Armstrong drove the court and threw up an off-balanced three-pointer that went through the net with 1.5 seconds left to give New Orleans a 98-96 lead.

Duncan’s last-second chance was off the mark.

The Hornets are back in action on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
