New York Knicks Must Aim for LeBron James 03.28.2008 - Updated on 03.28.2008

Donnie Walsh’s mission, assuming he has chosen to accept it, is to get the Knicks in cap shape by 2010 to take a run at LeBron James.
That job will entail dumping money, no great loss when you see the bang a 20-51 team already committed to $91 million for next season before signing any rookies, are getting for their buck. But that also likely means no gain for a couple years.
As the stripping-down process proceeds, you can expect a Knicks team increasingly made up of players on one-year contracts. [NY Post]
