ESPN.com, citing anonymous sources, reported Thursday that the Knicks had “outlined” a potential deal worth about $30 million over five years. The report stopped short of calling it a formal offer, and both sides denied that one was on the table.
“We haven’t hit that juncture yet,” LeGarie said.
The Knicks’ president, Donnie Walsh, sent word through a team spokesman Thursday that he had “not offered anyone a coaching contract.” Walsh declined to address the matter Friday. [New York Times]
